Located in Northeast
Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains, Lake Harmony is a resort village enticing
to people of all ages and backgrounds. Just 1 1/2 hours from Philadelphia,
and 2 hours from New York City, it's an easy destination to nearby cities,
yet manages to maintain its isolated, natures charm. A peaceful serenity
captures the area, enclosed off from nearby highways, shopping centers,
and cookie cutter mass tourist traps. Being that it has it's own restuarants,
general store for items ranging from Mil & Orange Juice, to breakfast
sandwiches and hoagies, to nightlife scene, Lake Harmony maintains a true
small town feel.
In the summer time Lake Harmony has a beach to
lay out, and catch the sun for an afternoon, or just sit back and read
a book. There are volleyball nets for the kids and families, and a dock
out in the Lake for those to swim out to. The beach is staffed with an
on-duty lifeguard. For those not up for the beach, there are plenty of
hiking trails to follow in the surrounding areas.
In addition, Lake Harmony is located within close
range of plenty of activities and things to do. Just minutes from Big
Boulder and Jack Frost, it offers plenty of skiing, snowboarding and snowtubing.
Other ski resorts such as Blue Mountain, Camelback, and Sno Mountain are
within a 30 minutes driving distance. For adventure seekers, there is
white water rafting and paintball located about 20 minutes away. For the
less thrill seekers, there is Hickory Run State Park, with plenty of natures
scenes just waiting to be viewed. And for those looking to capture a true
small town charm, Jim Thorpe (Mauch Chunk) is a scenic 30 minute drive
away.
